Here’s a closer look at some of our favourite things to do in and around Kentish Town.
On route to the office, we start our mornings off right by grabbing a coffee and almond croissant from The Fields Beneath - a lovely little neighbourhood cafe right next door to Kentish Town West overground station. The Fields Beneath or ‘Fields’ as we like to call it, has become an integral and much-loved part of the MVF family.
London has a reputation for being a vast concrete jungle but its green spaces are undoubtedly one of its best kept secrets. We are lucky enough to have three parks right on our doorstep;Talacre Gardens, Castlehaven’s Community Open Space and Primrose Hill. So when summer comes around, you will probably find us enjoying a picnic or a playing a heated game of rounders in one of our great local green spaces.
For days when we need a quick, healthy lunch you will find us queuing up in Earth for their delicious selection of of salads, soups, quiches and hot dish of the day. If it’s a team lunch day nothing compares to The Full Hunter’s Breakfast at the bare-bricked brunch ’n’ burger joint Lazy Hunter. The Pineapple is our second go-to team favourite because of their awesome Thai lunchtime special menu starting at the bargain price of £5.
A short, but leisurely walk away is Camden market, which boasts dozens of independent shops and street food stalls, and is the most popular destination for our staff during the summer at lunchtimes. Whether it’s over a Jamaican jerk chicken wrap or Korean bao buns, our teams often congregate by the canal to discuss plans for the weekend ahead.
We are all about striking balance and surrounded by all these incredible food destinations, MVF employees are just as passionate about working out. On Wednesday’s we get a serious sweat on at St Pancras Boxing Club and our running club will always be seen racing up Hampstead Heath, which is just minutes from the office.
London promises endless adventures, but on Fridays you will find most of us seeing the weekend in at our local haunt Tapping the Admiral, with it’s spacious outdoor area.
