MVF’s L&D Team receives Special Award

Back in February as well as MVF coming out on top as The Sunday Times Number 1 Company to Work For, our Learning & Development Team also received a Special Award on the same night from Sunday Times Best Companies for the outstanding developmental offerings available to MVF’s team members. We hear a bit more about why MVF’s L&D strategy is head and shoulders above the rest from Learning & Development Partner James Adams…

I’ve talked about our learning culture already, which you can find out more about in our previous post. So I wanted to share a little bit more about why I think L&D at MVF is amazing – of course I’m a little biased as our Learning & Development Partner. First of all we’re all very lucky. We work with bright, motivated and positive MVFers who love to learn. Every MVFer is unique and we work to create an inclusive and varied offering when it comes to development. They take what works for them and leave what doesn’t as we want to enable our people to be authentic.

It’s no great secret that personal development is a team activity. We learn from each other every day from simply watching how people behave to the skills and knowledge they share. MVFers aren’t cheap with the time they make for others and our internal coach-mentoring programme, known as Connected Learning, is a great example of this.

Growth at MVF starts from day one. We have an amazing week long onboarding programme to provide business context which we’ve converted to being held virtually whilst we’re working remotely, followed up by team academies to set new starters up for success in their roles. For those considering progressing into or already in people management roles we have two ILM quality endorsed development programmes; Mate to Manager and our Management Development Academy. Add to this our annual MVF Learning Festival, internal bespoke curriculum of workshops, personal development budgets, generous book allowance and the systems to support continuous self directed learning and you’re onto a winner! Feedback, feedback and more feedback. We (genuinely) love it and so we build it into every learning event both for facilitators and attendees. It also plays a key part in our probation and reward processes.

The level of feedback can be slightly daunting at first; where does it all go? And what do you do with it all?! But it’s at the heart of our desire to continuously improve ourselves and the development we offer. “We love growth and we know how to achieve it! As a business, for our clients and for every MVFer. Every day is an opportunity for personal growth and to be better at both what we do and as human beings.” Said Ange Pattico – Chief People Officer
