MVF Raises £27k for Disability Home in North Yorkshire

Thanks to an amazing year of CSR activities, MVF staff are proud to announce that we have reached our fundraising target for Leonard Cheshire’s disability home, Alne Hall.

Our amazingly generous staff have collectively raised a staggering £27,000 for the home in North Yorkshire. Thanks to a series of delicious bake sales, competitive quiz nights and strenuous hikes, employees at MVF have paid for an incredible minivan which ensures residents at Alne Hall get out and about for day trips all over the country Irene Smith, Service Manger at Alne Hall comments: “Raising money for much needed transport is very much appreciated. As we are a very rural service, transport is vital in enabling not just our staff to take residents out on trips and holidays, but also for their families / friends to take time away from the home giving everyone a chance to have much needed family time.”

Every year employees at MVF are invited to pitch a new charity that the company selects as its chosen charity for the forthcoming year. Usually MVF picks an organisation local to its Kentish Town hub in North London. In 2014, however, Kester Hodgson, MVF’s VP of B2B in the US, shared the story of his mother and her incredible experience at Alne Hall. Their story was so heart-warming that staff at MVF voted for Leonard Cheshire by an overwhelming majority, something Kester did not anticipate.

Yesterday, Kester travelled up to Yorkshire to present the staff at Alne Hall with the cheque on behalf of everyone at MVF. Kester comments: “I am truly touched by the generosity of everyone at MVF. Our CSR committee has worked extremely hard organising brilliant fundraisers throughout the year to meet this huge target and I know the team at Alne Hall are thrilled with their new minibus!”

A huge thank you to every MVFer who helped reach this fantastic target!
