Friday 14 December saw local London not-for-profit Castlehaven hold its biggest annual fundraiser, Winterfest, at their Camden community centre.
MVF supported the event, holding a bottle tombola to raise funds for the charity and bringing down the talented MVF Sharps, our in-house choir for some carolling.
We also took the festive event as the perfect opportunity for our CEO Michael Teixeira to award Castlehaven CEO Eleanor Botwright with a cheque representing MVFers fundraising efforts over the last few months - resulting in a massive £14,000 donation.
Following on from a £6,000 donation earlier this year to support the community centre’s Youth Summer Programme, the donation marks £20,000 donated to Castlehaven by MVF in 2018.
MVF CEO Michael Teixeira commented: “Helps others succeed is one of our core values at MVF, so fundraising and volunteering is a really big part of our company culture. We love Castlehaven because they help so many people in the Camden area have the chance to grow and succeed - whether it’s helping families through the nursery, holding workshops at the Horticulture Hub or even just giving people the chance to make new friends through the Age Activity program.”
MVF CSR Committee Chairman Jared Keleher commented: “I am so proud of the fundraising efforts of everyone at MVF this year, and pleased that MVF has matched everything we’ve raised to make a contribution to Castlehaven which will undoubtedly have a big impact on the lives of those in the Camden community in 2019.”
