Monday mornings are usually a bit of a struggle, let alone after a huge weekend at the Ibiza closing parties. This week, after a company trip to celebrate meeting our targets, everyone at MVF returned to work bright and early… if a little weary eyed from our first ever company holiday. And what a trip it was!
We arrived in the early hours of Friday morning, and were welcomed with cakes and treats by the hotel’s staff – much needed after the strenuous six hour journey from Kentish Town. The evening finished with cocktails and big plans for the epic weekend ahead.
Despite the very late first night, nothing could get in the way of MVF’s cycling veterans, who rode a staggering 90km around the entire island. Ibiza may be more famous for its nightclub scene, but our intrepid explorers said the landscape was breath-taking, if a little torturous in the sweltering heat.
On day two, a group from the SEO team ventured to the other side of the island for a private snorkelling trip. Max Holloway said: “It was absolutely stunning. Our captain, Angel, took us out to a nearby small island where we dived in and were surrounded by school after school of beautifully coloured tropical fish.”
The more adventurous adrenaline junkies of MVF headed straight to the beach to check out the water sports on offer. Drew Rowan from the tech team said: “The whole weekend was incredible but the highlight for me has to be tearing across the ocean on a jet ski on Friday – couldn’t have felt further away from my desk in London!”
Friday night was the annual MVF awards, and staff stepped out in their best white get-ups to celebrate the achievements of 2014 and the in-house talent. ‘Best Newcomer’ was awarded to video specialist Matthew Roberts, whilst board member Bjorn Zellweger scooped up ‘Best Motivator’.
Some of the team then went on to famous Ibiza hot spot ‘Pacha’ and danced into the wee hours of Saturday morning, whilst others took the party to the beach. Kiran Parmar from the PPC team said: “The awards were simply awesome - this PPCer had an amazing time.”
The trip would have not been possible without the impeccable organisation of our social committee members Lexie Newnham, Kate Conroy, Sam Choudary and Eloise Bloniarz who have been meticulously planning every detail for the past five months, so big thanks to them. The race is now on to meet next year’s figures, could it be Vegas next time?!
