It’s an exciting start to the summer here at MVF. The team from MVF’s US office in Austin, Texas, have come to visit us and we’re giving them a Great British welcome (British weather included!) For many of the team it’s their first visit to MVF’s Imperial Works headquarters and we want to show them how we get down in Kentish Town.
We’ve already thrown them a UK/USA themed welcome party where we gave them a taste of old British favourites like scones, Scottish smoked blinis and Pimms. They’ve been at the office with us for a week now, learning about the different departments and seeing what we get up to on this side of the pond. I’m sure they’ve had a taste of a few more British faves from our local pubs and restaurants, drank copious amounts of tea by now (let’s just embrace that stereotype, we know it’s true), and have been getting to know their British colleagues.
All of this merriment is only a warm up to our main event, MVF Fest, this Friday. Hosted in a forest somewhere in the wilderness (Lila’s wood, Hertfordshire), the day part of the festival will consist of talks from the company’s most inspirational people.
Karen says: ‘I’m really looking forward to the event. It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, get valuable tips from people who are adding massive value to the company and hopefully use their advice to gain more skills. On the average work day we’re all so busy it’s not very often we get a chance to do that.’
The evening will then be party time! We’ll have a huge barbecue buffet, followed by the MVF awards. Then we’ll go into full festival mode with glitter, glow sticks, neon paint, and, of course, drinks! After all that festival-ing we can either wind down in the wilderness and camp out for the night, or we can head back home on one of the buses. Who needs Glastonbury?
