MVF’s Visnja Drinjovski has been named in the Women in Software Power list for 2020 - a list that identifies women making change in the tech industry, after being shortlisted in May.
The prestigious list was “based on the opinions of high-profile industry leaders with demonstrated interest in technical excellence, inclusion, and cross-sector collaboration” and included CTOs from Depop, Direct Line and the Business Editor for Computer Weekly.
This year, the awards took on a special significance, as the impacts of Covid-19 threaten to set back progress on gender equality. A representative said: “We felt it was especially important to highlight the theme of “Changing the Narrative”. Women are making change happen for themselves and we wanted to give them (and the teams that advance them) the limelight.”
Visnja has created a number of programmes to support and influence up and coming tech talent including a ‘guild’ which encourages skills exchanges and knowledge sharing and a ‘drop in’ session every month to provide support and advice on her areas of tech expertise one on one.
Visnja has recently taken on the role of Engineering Manager for our publishing department, looking after our industry-leading websites including Startups.co.uk and Tech.co.
Editor of Tech.co Richard Parris comments: “Visnja is quite simply the best tech resource I've ever worked with - an utterly amazing organisational powerhouse! We're in the position we are today because Visnja's brilliant collaboration and organisation made it possible!”
