This week MVF staff member and recruit to our new Sales Academy, Babs Ofori-Acquah, has been nominated for the 2016 WeAreTheCity Top 100 Rising Stars Award. The awards recognise exceptional women in business below management level across a multitude of sectors.
Babs has been nominated for the Technology category which has attracted high calibre entries including corporate giants WorldPay, Accenture and BT. Babs joined MVF in January 2016 as Business Development Manager in the new Sales Academy scheme, which has been pioneered to fast track promising sales managers and give them expert training.
Showing her enterprising spirit, outside of her day job Babs also runs a successful blog and is a member of Tech London Advocates and supports their Women in Tech working group.
Dan Tobin who runs the Sales Academy comments: “We are thrilled that Babs has been shortlisted as the Rising Star for technology. Babs has made a big impact on her team and the whole company in the short time she has been with MVF and this award is testament to her passion for business and entrepreneurial spirit. Everyone at MVF is behind her and hoping she wins.”
Babs comments: “I feel extremely honoured to have made the shortlist for such a prestigious award. It is extra special that the awards celebrate women in business as it is something I am keen to champion. As a non-techie working in the digital sector, I hope this highlights that there are lots of opportunities for women who don't have a technical background to work in STEM industries. It is fantastic to see so many inspiring women making a real difference to their companies and sectors - I am certainly in good company!”
